AIMP 2.60 Build 497 Beta 4

AIMP Classic is a powerful audio player that allows you to listen to your favorite music with an outstanding sound quality. Its appearance resembles that of another classical audio player (Winamp), so you’ll get used to it very quickly. It can also be customized with skins. The program includes a 18-band equalizer, a visualization window to display rhythmic visual effects and a playlist editor to organize your audio files. A nice fading effect makes your list of songs look like an endless music loop and a handy volume normalizing feature avoids drastic volume changes between tracks. Also, the player’s main functions can be conveniently controlled by global hotkeys. Besides playing music, AIMP Classic features three extra utilities which also enable you to record any sound on your computer, convert audio files from one format to another and view or edit tags. AIMP Classic is based on the well-known audio engine BASS, so it’s easy to connect new plug-ins (from the plug-in library included in the program) and expand the player’s functionalities.

Super-small YP-U3 MP3 player Pt.1

With a slim, lightweight design and a four line OLED display, Samsung’s 2GB U3 doesn’t look like much, but housed within the slim black chassis is one of the best flash media players we’ve reviewed. Combining excellent sound quality with all the features we’ve come to expect from such a player, the YP-U3 is a great solution for those who want music on the go.

Recycled Fishcer Turntable Clock

recycled-turntable-clock_1

If you have a thing for old turntables, but at the same time don’t really have a use for one, it seems silly to keep a real turntable around.  Well instead of keeping one around purely because you like the look of them, you could purchase this clock.  It’s made out of an old turntable, so you get that classic look, but it’s still functional.  Plus you can hang it on the wall and you haven’t lost any space on a table top within your home.

This turntable is actually a recycled Fishcer turntable and was handmade.  The album on the turntable is a Doobie Brothers album, Minute by Minute.  To keep the clock up and running all you’ll need is a single AA battery, which happens to be included in the deal.  The entire clock measures 17 inches wide and 14 inches tall and hangs from 2 hangers located at the back of the clock.  Each model is going to vary slightly since it is made out of an actual turntable, making each one of these unique.  You can purchase your own for $89 from the seller Pixelthis within Etsy.

BucketVAC

bucketvacIf you’re like me, then you always have a five gallon bucket in your garage or shed. You may not even know where you got it from or how old it is. You don’t know what was even in it in the first place. It might have been oil or paint, but the label has long since worn off.

Those five gallon buckets are useful for all kinds of jobs like something to put pulled-out weeds in, and such. Some innovator has figured out another use with the BucketVac.

The BucketVac is a very simple concept whose name says it all: a shop-vac attachment that easily fits on the top of any 5-gallon bucket. Just snap it into place, and you have something to clean up any wet or dry spills.

Best of all, the BucketVac doesn’t block the handle that makes 5-gallon buckets so handy. Considering how tight 5-gallon bucket lids area, this BucketVac will probably stay on with a vacuum seal. Seriously, I once tried to pry the lid of a five gallon paint bucket off with my bare hands, and it practically cut into the skin. A warning to anyone that hasn’t done this: use a tool.

The BucketVac isn’t expected to hit the market until the fourth quarter of 2009, but it could easily put the ShopVacs out of business.

cerevo_cnet_2If there is one thing that I cannot stand about taking pictures, it is the time-consuming process of uploading them to social media sites. Lately, I have been doing a lot of video footage, and YouTube’s upload system, simple as it is, seems like a middleman just waiting to be eliminated.

Camera companies have been responding to this consumer needs with supposed “YouTube” ready features, but this is not enough. Social media addicts are demanding that their pictures be uploaded to their Facebook and MySpace sites through the camera itself.

This was the subject of a presentation by Cerevo at the CNET Japan Innovation Conference 2009. The company Cerevo plans to release the CerevoCam, a camera with Wi-Fi and 3G, designed so that photos can be easily put on their photo sharing site known as CerevoLife.

It promises to be so good that a consumer could take pictures late at night, then wirelessly transfer them to the Internet. By the time he or she logs onto the Internet in the morning, his or her photos will be on CerevoLife. There is room for about 5GB worth of free space, which is good for 4,000 pictures.

The user can also share pictures on Flickr, Twitter, Picasa, as well as other services. The CerevoCam plans to launch in a few months for about $210, but could launch earlier if things are going well.

Personally, I hope Cerevo perfects their process, and it is imitated by other camera companies. Anything that can relieve me of the USB cable to my computer is always welcome.

Game Gun available for pre-order

gamegun-vid-new-1-1Those of you that love the FPS shooter games will fall even more in love with them with the Wireless Game Gun. As you can see by the You Tube video after the jump, someone has finally perfected a way of putting a screen on a motion controlled controller that resembles a military machine gun.

That someone is an engineer and inventor who is known all across the tech and gadget blogosphere as The Redneck Techie. The video shows him moving around the room and stalking in some “classic Tom Clancy” style with this unique gaming peripheral.

You will notice the cord that dangles from the gun and ends up in his pocket. That is apparently the batteries for the unit, which “were too big to fit into the gun”. Perhaps version 2.0 will not have this wire and really be wireless, but I don’t see it being any more annoying than the Wii-strap.

The Wireless Game Gun is Plug-and-Play compatible with Xbox 360, Wii, PS3, and the PC, and maybe even for Macs. You can look into pre-ordering it here, but you might notice that the site looks a little antiquated. It is projected that the Wireless Game Gun will be available by Christmas, but there is no word on price as yet.

Camping season for most is coming to a close, but if you camp all year round, this is one item you’ll benefit from.  Having a hot cup of coffee when it’s not so warm outside is always a good idea.  Yes, it might make you appear as if you aren’t exactly roughing it, but it’s nice to have at least a couple of things to make camping a little more convenient.  This Brunton Flip-N-Drip isn’t overly large either, it’s only the size of a thermos.

In order to make the coffee, you boil water in the base of the coffee maker.  Then you just attach what is called the brew chamber, that is already filled with the coffee grounds of your choosing.  Once it’s attached you flip the entire thing over and it will begin the percolation process.  That portion of the process itself takes about 10-12 minutes.  After that is all finished you remove the 16 oz mug that features a double wall and is insulated.  The Flip-N-Drip isn’t available just yet, but once it is you’ll be able to pick it up for $45 from Brunton.

SanDisk Sansa Clip+ MP3 player

sansa-clip-plus

Mention MP3 players and the iPod will definitely come into your mind. While other players in the market have tried to dislodge the iPod from its lofty perch through numerous efforts, it is safe to say that they are far from succeeding, but that doesn’t mean that SanDisk will give up the fight just like that. No sir, SanDisk, being the global leader in flash memory cards, has just announced that they will be releasing their latest MP3 player - the Sansa Clip+ MP3 player. This model will feature a microSD memory card slot, virtually allowing you to store plenty of albums on individual microSD cards that makes for easy categorizing. After all, file transfer is a snap using the standard drag-and-drop method.

SanDisk claims that their Sansa Clip+ MP3 player is one of the best sounding MP3 players in the market - how true that is remains to be seen, although we do wonder whether there is any clause if this claim is limited to a player of its size or price range. The Sansa Clip+ will succeed its predecessor, unceremoniously known as the Clip, and will retain full compatibility with SanDisk slotRadio and slotMusic cards, alongside any microSD memory card that boasts pre-loaded music files. Features of the Sansa Clip+ MP3 player includes a wearable clip that makes for hands-free portability, a 1″ OLED display that ought to be bright enough for use even under direct sunlight. It will sport a simple user interface that makes it a snap to select songs and playlists through a variety of assortments. An integrated FM tuner with 40 preset stations make it a snap for you to select your favorite station wherever you are, with a built-in microphone turning the Sansa Clip+ into an impromptu voice recorder.

Available in 2GB, 4GB and 8GB capacities, the Sansa Clip+ will retail for $39.99, $49.99 and $69.99, respectively, where you can choose from red, blue or black colors.
